Experiencing an Emergency?

When Every Minute Matters

At Creedmoor Road Animal Hospital, we know that your pet’s health concerns don’t always follow a schedule. That’s why we offer weekday Urgent Care services, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, to provide same-day medical attention for pets in stable condition who cannot wait for a regular appointment.

Whenever possible, we recommend scheduling an appointment or calling ahead. Booking in advance helps reduce in-clinic wait times and is especially helpful for pets who may become anxious in a hospital environment.

Our hospital proudly offers a check-in system that allows you to reserve your appointment time online. While we strive to run on time, please note that wait times may vary depending on the urgency of other patients’ needs.

Walk-ins are welcome during Urgent Care hours, and our team will do everything possible to see your pet promptly. Our number is 919.781.0696.

If your pet has an emergency after hours, we recommend the following 24-hour veterinary hospital:

  • Urinary discomfort or straining
  • Allergic reactions and skin issues

If your pet requires more advanced or overnight care, we’ll help arrange a seamless transfer to a local 24-hour specialty or emergency facility.

How Long Will I Have to Wait to be Seen?

Upon arrival, a veterinary technician will triage your pet. The technician will assess the degree of urgency and take a brief history, evaluating your pet’s overall condition and any visible signs of discomfort or illness.

The nature of your pet’s condition will determine how quickly a doctor will meet with you. A patient who arrives after you may be seen first based on the urgency of their needs.

Our goal is to provide the best possible care and treatment for your pet as quickly as we can.

After 4:00 PM? Please get in touch with the nearest urgent care or emergency vet near you.

What’s the Difference Between Urgent Care and Emergency Care?

At Creedmoor Road Animal Hospital, we offer Urgent Care services during our business hours (Monday–Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM). Understanding the difference between urgent and emergency care can help you make the best decision for your pet.

Urgent Care

Urgent Care is for pets with non-life-threatening conditions that require prompt attention. These are cases where your pet is uncomfortable or unwell but stable.
Examples include:
  • Ear infections, eye issues
  • Mild vomiting or diarrhea (non-bloody)
  • Minor wounds or limping
  • Allergic reactions (mild facial swelling, itching)
  • Coughing, sneezing
  • Urinary discomfort
  • Sudden but stable changes in behavior or appetite
Same-day walk-ins welcome. We aim to get your pet seen quickly and comfortably.

Emergency Care

Emergency Care is for life-threatening or rapidly worsening conditions that require immediate intervention. If your pet arrives during our hours with an emergency, our team will act quickly to stabilize them and begin a treatment plan. However, if hospitalization or overnight care is required, we will coordinate a prompt transfer to a trusted 24-hour emergency facility to ensure your pet receives continuous, around-the-clock support.
Examples include:
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Seizures or collapse
  • Ingestion of toxins or foreign objects
  • Uncontrolled bleeding
  • Hit by a car or serious trauma
  • Bloated or distended abdomen
  • Difficulty giving birth
  • Pale gums or loss of consciousness
If your pet is experiencing any of the above, call us immediately at 919-781-0696 so we can prepare for your arrival. If it is after hours, please contact the nearest 24-hour emergency veterinary facility right away.
